Introducing Pillowtalk: The best lipstick EVER?

As far as my love for makeup goes, I’ve never been a lipstick fiend. I like my subtle nudes: think Mac’s Velvet Teddy or Max Factor’s Burnt Caramel. I’ve always wanted the ‘your lips but nicer’ look that you can wear with heavier eye make up or put more colour into your cheeks.

Charlotte Tilbury’s latest release of her Matte Revolution Lipstick in Pillowtalk not only claims to fit that brief, but also makes the very bold claim to be the perfect shade for every skintone. Is it true? Only one way to find out!

Whilst this may just seem like another standard beauty release to most people, I am in fact jumping for joy as this shade has been taken from Charlotte’s cult classic lip liner in the same shade.

This is an absolute must-have in my make up bag – the ultimate cheat to having fuller lips. The colour is the perfect balance between a beige nude and a pinky nude that enhances the natural colour of your lips to create the perfect pout. Having it as a lip liner is perfect in creating that slightly-bigger-than-your-own make-believe lip line.

And now with the lipstick to go with the lip liner, Charlotte gets even closer towards that perfect pout! She has created this in her ‘Matte Revolution’ range as well, meaning that it looks even more natural on the lips.

For those loyal Velvet Teddy fans, I must say the colour is very similar but slightly lighter and slightly pinker, which to me is more of a natural shade. I also find Charlotte Tilbury’s matte lipsticks much more nourishing than MAC’s which tend to show all the creases and cracks in dry lips.

It also has a lovely smell, just like MAC lipsticks and the product soft and fairly long lasting. Due to the subtle shade, you could pair it with any make up look or colouring and still pull it off.

As for a ‘universally approved’ shade, Charlotte has proven this by sampling the lipstick on 10 different models and you can see that it looks lovely on each and every one of them.

If you’re tempted, you can buy the lipstick on Charlotte’s website for £23, but be quick – I’m sure it will be a sell-out! People are already selling it on eBay for £40+ so this is already looking like a future cult classic!
